CPR for everyone_Training Session

CPR for Everyone

This course teaches you how to perform CPR, choking relief and how to use an AED. It also includes the proper use of barrier devices for ventilation and how to activate emergency response services.

It is aimed at lay rescuers or those with minimal medical training that are expected to respond to emergencies in their workplace, specific occupation and/ or those requiring certification for OHS purposes. This includes (but is not limited to) security personnel, firefighters, lifeguards, law enforcement officers, swimming coaches, teachers, health and fitness personnel, employees in the retail industry etc.

First Aid Level 1

First Aid Essentials for Children

This course provides training in basic first aid skills for emergencies related to children (e.g. bleeding, fractures, burns, head injuries etc.), how to provide CPR and relieve choking as well as how to use an AED.

It is aimed at those who need to provide basic first aid to children as well as CPR, when needed. This includes parents, family members, nannies, au pairs, teachers and/ or domestic staff.

Please note that this course is an accredited Resuscitation Council of South Africa course. It is NOT a Department of Employment and Labour/ SETA/ QCTO Level 1 first aid course.

First Aid Level 2

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) and BLS renewal

This course is presented to participants who work with patients in a healthcare setting (both in- and out- of- hospital). Healthcare providers can include, but is not limited to, medical doctors; nurses; paramedics; registrars; medical interns; medical students in training; dentists; and any other allied healthcare workers

This course is a prerequisite for all of the advanced life support courses in resuscitation, such as ACLS; PALS etc. It may also be an entry requirement for certain postgraduate qualifications. The course teaches participants how to perform high quality CPR, how to use barrier devices for ventilation (pocket masks and bag- valve masks), how to use an AED, and how to relieve an obstruction in a choking victim.

Basic First Aid (Level 1)

Basic first aid providers respond to emergency situations to provide efficient and immediate basic medical care to ill and injured persons during emergencies. They use a limited range of equipment and operate within common and uncommon situations providing a basic first aid care service that falls within a strictly regulated scope of work as defined by various regulatory requirements.

This course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn first aid, caregivers, teachers, nannies, au pairs and anyone seeking compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Family and Friends CPR

This course teaches the basic skills of CPR, choking relief and how to activate emergency services. It is aimed at any person who wants to learn life- saving skills for their loved ones. No prior medical training is required

Participants will receive a Family and Friends manual that should be reviewed during and after the course.

STOP THE BLEED®

The STOP THE BLEED® course is a community-based course intended for all members of the community, with no previous experience or training required.

Participants in the course will learn how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and act quickly and effectively to control it with three quick techniques. The ACS STOP THE BLEED® training course will empower you to make a life-or-death difference when a bleeding emergency happens. The course is intended to run over 4-6 hours where theory and practical training will be provided in bleeding control.

Upon completion the participant will receive an American College of Surgeons STOP THE BLEED® certificate.
